Recommended age: from 8
Size of group: it doesn't matter
Time for preparation: none
Material: Dice

Game description

In this game, the children have to do their maths really quickly. A numeric value is considered as the starting point. That is, for example, 20. Now the dicing begins successively. Every child quietly counts up the numbers cast. The trick is, every even number is added, while the odd numbers are subtracted. Once the value has reached 20 all children are required to report their total. The one, calling out the correct number first wins. If the answer is incorrect, the child is eliminated, and another round begins. If you want to make it a bit more difficult, maybe for older children, raise the value to 50 or any other suitable number. For example, every 2 can mean to multiply and so on. With these rules, even the best math genius will go a little crazy. However, this game is a lot of fun and promotes math skills. Ideal for teaching maths.
