Buttons on the move

Time: approx. 5 - 10 min.
Recommended age: all ages
Size of group: it doesn't matter
Time for preparation: none
Material: Buttons, toothpicks

Game description

Option 1: The children stand shoulder to shoulder. The first child gets buttons placed on his foot which he then has to pass on to the next child. However, they are not allowed to use their hands. Every manoeuvre must be done with the feet. Option 2: The objective with this version is to pass on the button with a toothpick, the child is holding in his mouth. Before the game starts, make sure that the holes in the buttons are big enough for the toothpick. Variation 3: In this version, the button is placed on one’s finger. The objective is to pass the button on from finger to finger. That is how you do it: The button is on the finger of one child. The next child puts his finger on top, and both turn the hand around. The first child now can let go, and the third kid gets a go. That keeps going until the button has reached its destination. You can play all three versions in teams as well.

Judging

The winner is the team that was able to bring all the buttons in the shortest time possible to their destination. If a button falls to the floor, the team has to start from the beginning.
