|Time:||in any order|
|Recommended age:||from 8|
|Size of group:||it doesn't matter|
|Time for preparation:||approx. 15 minutes|
|Material:||Strong ropes (polypropylene ropes) 2-5 hooks, a safety belt if required.|
Depending on the area available two ropes (a polypropylene rope approx. 10mm thick for a rope bridge 10m long) are tied to 2 trees which ideally leads over a stream. The lower rope must be tied tight enough so that it does not hang on the ground under anyone’s body weight. The upper rope is for holding on to. If the ropes are tied to trees relatively high up you will need further safety equipment such as safety belts and hooks. (Safety note: the attachment of ropes and the use of the correct materials as well as safety measures should be carried out by an experienced person).
Instead of walking over the rope you can simply fix 1 rope and monkey along it. The height should be low enough so that this is possible without a safety belt.
There is no real scoring of the game. The main aim is the experience of mastering such a rope bridge.
